Platform Lifts
Motobility imports all their Platformlift solutions from Lehner Lifttechnik, an Austrian family-owned and run company, specialising in a variety of lifting solutions, including escalator, vertical lifts, stairclimbers, airport solutions and more.
Platform Lifts offer a great alternative to lengthily ramps and are specially designed to carry wheelchair users up/down the stairs safely and securely. Platform Lifts offer options for indoor use, outdoor use, curved and straight stairs. They are also designed to fold neatly up when not in use, increasing the space available for other stair users.

About Lehner Lifttechnik
Lehner Lifttechnik is located inNeukirchen am Walde, Austria and operates in over 50 countries worldwide and installed over 15,000 Lifting solutions in the past 25 Years. Their products are widely used in private as well as public places, to ensure accessibility to all.
How does a Platform Lift work?
Similar to a stairlift, a platform lift uses a rail, this can be either straight or curved, which is attached to the treads of your stairs. If space is at a premium, some options also allow to be wall-mounted, this is only possible if the wall is structurally strong such as brick or concrete.
Attached to the rail is a Platform, which is made to accommodate a wheelchair or powerchair and it’s user. If it is for a public space, you can also choose to have a fold-down seat added, which makes the platform-lift accessible to non-wheelchair users alike. Platform lifts are also well suited for use with prams, rollators and walking frames.
The Platform-Lift folds up when it isn’t in use, allowing for additional space and an overall neater appearance. The Platform itself can differ a bit from model to model and based on the options that you have chosen.
It has “lips” on three sides (front, rear and side away from the rail), based on the set-up of your home or stairs you can select from which way it will be the easiest to enter and exit the stairlift both at the top and at the bottom of the stairs. Once the Platformlift arrives at the top of the stairs, the selected lip will automatically lower and you can de-embark the lift. You can then push a button to fold the platform-lift neatly up against the wall or balustrade
