The Solus is straightforward to use and extremely practical. Just take a seat in the supportive, comfortable seat, place the easy-to-use seatbelt and use the controls gently to glide yourself up and down the stairs, there is nothing simpler than that.

Safe and easy to use

The Solus is designed with safety and easy of use. Your Solus stairlift has a seat-safety sensor that ensures it doesn’t move until after you are comfortably seated. It also locks using a built-in control key feature, to keep it safe from young children. The chair can also be folded flat using the one-step fold-away function, to offer extra space on the stairs. If you have limited strength in your hands, this stairlift offers an optional one or two-way powered swivel seat, which allows you to turn and face the landing or hall to exit your Solus more easily.

The benefits and features are listed below that are common to the Stannah Solus for straight stairs.

Standard Features

• Wall Control easily call the stairlift to the top or bottom of the stairs
• Manual Swivel Seat is operated by pulling up on the swivel levers on either side of the chair, it will rotate the chair making it easier for the user to get on and off the stairlift at the top of the stairs.
• Manual Swivel Seat can be operated by locating the swivel levers on either side of the chair and putting up. The chair will rotate, making getting on and off easier.
• Seat Safety Sensor will not allow the stairlift to move unless someone is sitting in the chair. To move the stairlift while empty, you will need to use the wall controls.
• Easy One-Step Folding (Footplate Included) allows you to fold the chair away in only one step. Simply fold up the seat and both the armrests and footplate will fold away as well.
• Adjustable Armrests The armrest length can be adjusted during the installation process to ensure it’s ergonomically fitted to you.
• control pod is the stairlift control. It features the on/ off key-switch and directional controls all in one.
• Adjustable Seat Height Our technicians adjust the seat during the installation process. The ability to do this means that a Stannah stairlift is well suited to people of all heights.
• Safety Edges the footrest and carriage have special sensors that can detect an obstruction. When an obstruction is detected, the stairlift stops automatically. The stairlift can still move away from the obstruction.
• Power-On Light when the stairlift is ready for use, a green light is displayed.
• Intermediate Swivel Seat Locking Positions This feature allows users to swivel manually in the seat in small steps. The user can simply release the levers to allow this to happen.
• Continuous Battery Charging The batteries are constantly being charged no matter where the chair sits on the rail.

Optional Extras

• One-Way Powered Swivel Seat This feature allows the user to face the landing or hallway by swivelling automatically using the controls. If strength and movement in the hands and arms is restricted, this feature is extremely useful. The swivel seat is excellent for several users you need it at one time as the lift can be called from the bottom of the stairs even if it’s currently swivelled at the top.
• Two-Way Powered Swivel Seat similar to the one-way powered swivel seat, however, the two-way seat can swivel at the top and the bottom of the stairs. Please note that the seat is not able to swivel while travelling. It can only swivel in its final position.
• Seatbelts For added safety, a range of different seatbelts are available which include five-point seatbelts and immobiliser seatbelts (where the chair stops should the user fall).
• Footrest Fold Button With just the touch of a button, this feature allows the user to raise or lower the footplate automatically, independent of the rest of the chair. This allows the user to get on or off the chair with the footplate folded up.
• Removable Link Bars this allows the user to easily slide from a wheelchair onto the stairlift. this feature must be carried out during the installation
