The Sofia is designed with your intuition in mind. Settle comfortably into your supportive chair, clip up your easy-to-use seatbelt if you like, and move the controller to glide up or down the stairs – it’s that easy. 

Safe and space-saving design

A range of space-saving and safety features have been designed into your Sofia. A one-step fold-away component lets you fold the chair up neatly to allow for extra space, while a seat-safety sensor ensures your stairlift doesn’t move until you’re safely seated. Use the integral control key to lock your Sofia to keep it safe from curious young ones. For those who find it difficult to use their hands, you can even choose an optional one or two-way powered swivel seat which is excellent for narrow hallways. This function allows you to turn to face your landing or hall, making your Sofia, easy to get in and out of.

1. Comfortable chair

The upholstered, padded seat offers an elegant look and true comfort.

2. Easy-to-use control pod

Lock your stairlift using the pod key. Gently move the control pod to use your stairlift.

3. Seatbelt

A retractable seatbelt can be used with one hand for added reassurance. Your Sofia does not require the seatbelt to be used in order to operate. 

4. Easy-to-use swivel levers

The levers or added optional auto one or two-way swivel will get your stairlift into the safest position once you reach the bottom or top of your stairs.

5. Safety edges

Your Sofia will stop if it detects any obstructions on your stairs.

6. Stunning personalised upholstery

Choose from a wide range of hard-wearing woven, leather or vinyl upholstery in a variety of colours to match your décor.

7. Adjustable arms

Your Sofia’s armrests can be adjusted to fit you personally.

8. One-step folding

Fold your Sofia flat to leave more space on your stairs by flipping the arms up, the seat and footrest will follow. 

9. Removeable link bars

Your Sofia offers side access for sliding onto your chair from a wheelchair. This can be done with removeable link bars. Removing the link bars will eliminate the one-step fold away option.

10. Seat Safety Sensor

Smart sensors inside your Sofia ensure it doesn’t move until after you are seated safely and comfortably.

11. Adjustable seat height

To complete your comfort, your Sofia’s footrest and seat can be perfectly positioned to match your height.

SOFIA SAFETY

Once your Sofia reaches the top of the stairs, use the optional swivel to turn the chair facing away from the stairs. This creates an added safety barrier. Your stairlift comes with a retractable seatbelt if you wish to clip yourself in for added safety. Once in place, lock your Sofia to ensure it’s not used by young children. Your stairlift detects pressure on the seat, so you won’t move until after you are seated safely. The chair is always on charge no matter where it sits on the rail so you don’t have to worry about it running out of power. Backup batteries are located inside your Sofia so you can be rest assured it will still work during a power failure. For multiple users, a separate controller allows you to call or send your Sofia up or down the stairs as often as you need.
