Adjustable Electric Beds
Given the amount of time we spend in bed, it is surprising that the “typical bed” hasn’t changed much over the past 50 years. While innovations in foams and latex have brought many changes and innovations to the mattress world, beds have remained mostly unchanged. Only in the past few years have we seen an increase in the demand for electric adjustable beds, also called “lifestyle beds”. Where electric beds used to be seen as “hospital equipment” and unfit for the home, technology and design have come far and allow us to provide you with a stylish, functional, innovative and most importantly comfortable, electric adjustable bed made to the highest quality standards and NDIS Approved.

Benefits of Adjustable Beds
Alleviate Sleep Apnea, Asthma, and Snoring
Snoring is a concern for the snorer and the co-sleeper; it may also indicate a more profound health condition known as sleep apnoea.
Sleep apnea is a common disorder and can vary widely in severity.
Breathing can pause for any time, lasting from just a few seconds to actual minutes and may occur many times within the hour. The sleeper is often awoken when they stop breathing, which leads to disturbed sleep. Once awake, it can sometimes be hard to fall back asleep, which causes a lack of sleep and low energy levels the next day. Over an extended period, this can lead to fatigue and other health complications.
Sleeping at a raised angle will improve airflow and help reduce obstructions in the nasal passages, allowing for a night of more healthy and uninterrupted sleep.
Oxygen flow can also be restricted when lying flat. Elevation of the head will allow a better flow of air and oxygen.
Other conditions, such as asthma, can be reduced, and elevating the head can also be helpful with sinus pressure, which is reduced due to the elevation.
Digestion Reflux & Heartburn
Most doctors and healthcare professionals recommend waiting a few hours after eating before going to sleep. This is even more important for people who suffer from Reflux.
When lying flat on a mattress, stomach acids can move towards the oesophagus, leading to uncomfortable heartburn and acid reflux problems.
It has been shown that sleeping with a 15 to 20 cm incline of the head can keep the acid in the stomach and away from the throat. This allows for much healthier digestion and a better night's sleep.
Back Pain
By sleeping on an adjustable bed, you should be able to lessen your back pain by positioning the adjustable bed base to match the contour of your body as close as possible. Sciatica and other painful conditions from restricted nerves in the spine can be significantly improved.
The term Zero-G position (least amount of gravity) is often used for raising the head by 45° and lifting the legs to relieve compression of the spine and increase circulation.
General Health Benefits
The Motobility adjustable bed can assist with many distressing conditions, such as poor circulation, varicose veins, swelling and inflammation, as raising the legs to improve blood flow.
It even helps against the more common complaints such as restless legs.
Arthritis and pressure points from recent surgery can all achieve a degree of relief from sleeping in an elevated position.
Freedom and independence
Many situations in life, whether it be an illness, accident, disability or just older age, can often affect our daily life. Simple tasks, such as getting in and out of bed, can become challenging to do independently. The adjustable bed is the perfect solution to regain independence, reduce your health problems and enhance your daily lifestyle. Let the bed work for you; by pushing a button, you can get to an upright seated position halfway to getting out of bed. Now all that is required is to swing your legs around.
